Sadly, but not unexpectedly because we were forewarned, Covid19 has shown that it is not a “snow bird” which leaves for warmer places when the cold autumn winds begin to blow. Once again we are witnessing a rise in the number of confirmed cases of COVID19. This resurgence challenges us to become more vigilant and careful in our daily activities.

Wash hands frequently, cough into your elbow, use hand sanitiser in public places, wear a mask, stay in your bubble, and pray that God will bless the work of those who are searching for a safe vaccine which will protect us against COVID19. In this autumn season it is also a good idea to get vaccinated against the flu.

But as I write this reminder of what you already know I realize that there are some who do not want to believe what our medical officers of health are saying. They whitewash the seriousness of the situation we face and in so doing they lead people into risky activities. My hope and prayer is that we will not allow ourselves be led astray and let our guard down.

May God give you strength and wisdom to persevere in the fight against COVID19.
