Where ever you are on your faith journey, you are welcome to come worship with us.

Our congregation is home to people from around the world, some of whom have been Anglicans all their lives, and many who are newer to Anglicanism or to Christianity.  Here are some questions people often ask:

What is Sunday morning like?

Sunday morning we offer dynamic Anglican worship, using contemporary language (BAS), and offering Holy Communion (the bread and the wine) each week.  If you're new to the Anglican Church, you can read more about "what is 'Anglican'?" over here.

The service lasts just over an hour.  We project the entire service onto a screen, so there's no paper to pick up, or books to fuss with.  We have three fantastic worship bands: two offering contemporary worship music and the other incorporating modern adaptations of traditional hymns.  We don't have a dress code: people wear everything from casual clothing to ladies' hats to  the traditional clothing of their own native cultures.

The sermons are about 10 minutes in length.  Together with the "prayers of the people" they remind us that faith isn't just about what happens on Sundays!  Faith is about how we live our daily lives and how we respond to the world around us.

In the middle of the service we share the Peace with one another: we shake hands and wish each other "peace" (in essence: "I wish you the very best").  You can read more about this ancient Christian practice here.

The offering comes after the Peace, when people make a gift of money to support the work of the Church.  It is a voluntary, free-will offering, not some kind of "admission fee".

The high point of the service is Communion, which comes near the very end.  Everyone is welcome at Communion.  Click here if you're curious about what happens at Communion, and how to "do" it.

Following the service, we have coffee and tea in the Narthex (entrance way) and mingle as we make our way out the doors and into our lives of faith.

Can I bring my kids?

Absoultely!  Children are always welcome at St. George's, even if they're shy, or fussy, or playful and curious.   Bring your children right into the service with you.

If you have a baby who is fussing, feel free to use the side aisles or the Narthex (entrance way) to walk with them.  A change table is available in the downstairs toilets - feel free to ask anyone for directions.

For older children, there's "Children's Time" which happens about 10 minutes into the service.  The Priest will invite the children to come forward to pray or reflect together on a topic of faith.  If your child would like to come forward, they're most welcome!  And if not, that's okay too.

From September to June we have Sunday School for children age 5-12: they go directly to Sunday School from Children's Time, and come back into the service just in time for Communion.  For more information about our Sunday School and the awesome culture St. George's offers for children, click here.

How do I get my baby baptized?

The best way to get started is to attend a service at St. George's - decide first if you like coming here!  Then, introduce yourself to the Rector, Rev. Clara after the service.  Bring your calendar: together, you'll find a time for baptismal preparation.  This is normally a 45-minute visit at your home to equip you to raise your baby in the Christian faith (which is one of the promises at the baptismal service).  At that visit, you'll schedule the date of the baptism.

What's involved with membership?

Membership at St. George's simply means getting connected to the St. George's community, participating in worship and congregational life and forming bonds of fellowship.  All of us are on a journey of faith, so we don't expect certain things of you before you can "belong".
